The American Rocket League team Version-1 scored a surprise victory at the third tournament of the RLCS Wintersplits. With the tournament victory, the first ever of Version-1 in Rocket League, the team also qualifies for the RLCS winter major at the end of March.

"It doesn't feel real to have won yet. We've been working really hard lately," said Version 1 player Robert "Comm" Kyser after the final, "It's just nice to see that all the work was worth it.»

Nobody could really compete with version-1 at the third RLCS winter event. The team finished the group stage undefeated. And with two wins in the Upper Bracket and a clear 4:1 victory against NRG in the final, the Americans underpinned their performance.

Not even a fire alarm in the team building during the knockout round match against G2 Esports could stop the US team. "We only heard the alarm itself after almost 30 seconds and then took a short break," says Comm. "But when the alarm didn't want to stop, we decided to keep playing".
