The e-sports department of Hertha BSC is withdrawing from League of Legends. The team in the Prime League, which had narrowly missed the first League promotion against NNO, will be dissolved in the course.
"After a year in Division II, we have decided to reposition ourselves in the field of esports and focus on other projects for the time being," the Bundesliga soccer player said on his own website. "We did not make this decision easy for ourselves and the reasons for this are manifold.»
In e-sports, the focus of the club, which lost its investors with Lars Windhorst in October, will be on football simulations such as FIFA in the future. However, an LoL return is not ruled out for the future. Hertha will "continue to follow the scene eagerly".
Even in the summer season, Hertha came close to promotion to the first division after 17 victories and only one defeat, but lost in the decisive round against the team No Need Orga consisting of streamers. The series set an audience record for the Canadian LoL scene with over 100,000 viewers.
