Unicorns of Love: Sexy Edition has taken the lead in the German League of Legends Prime League and secured a place at the European Masters. The team won 14 consecutive games at the end of the regular season.
"Of course I'm over the Moon, it was a very nice regular split. We all learned a lot, and now we have the laurels for our work, " UoL coach Fabian "Sheepy" Mallant said in an interview after the game. "Of course, I'm already super excited about the upcoming games, we now have the playoffs and the EU Masters, but it's only just beginning.»
BIG and SK have to fight for EU Masters qualification
Actually, UoL had started the split suboptimally with 1: 3 victories, but made no more mistakes afterwards and distanced teams like BIG and Eintracht Spandau. BIG is on the verge of qualifying for the EU Masters, but is level on points with SK Gaming Prime in the table and therefore still has to fight for second place in a tiebreaker on Sunday.
On the other hand, it will be exhausting for Eintracht Spandau. Although the team had defeated BIG in the Berlin Derby the day before, it was still only enough for fifth place in the season, which means that the team has to fight for the end in an exciting quarterfinal against Schalke 04.
The year is already over for defending champion Team Gamerlegion. Although only Botlaner Ronan "jinjo" Swingler had left the lineup for Spain, the team could not build on the achievements of the previous split. With the seventh place, Gamerlegion also misses the EU Masters.
