At the start of the second week of the Dreamleague Season 18, Tundra Esports defeated the major winners OG with a crushing 2:0. With the win, Tundra played their way to the top of the table.

"We're just a bunch of nerds," Tundra's midlaner Leon "Nine" Kirilin replied in an interview when asked why his team often adapts so quickly to game updates. "My teammates talk about Dota all the time. We can't spend a single day without talking about Dota.»

Dota Pro Circuit: Quick adaptation to new update

The adaptation to the new update 7.31B seems to have worked so well that the winner of the Stockholm Major was overcome with ease. OG lasted only 17 minutes in the second game before giving up - a record this season.

"After a new update comes out, we all play a lot of matchmaking first to try out new strategies. Then we filter out all the bad ideas by playing practice matches against other teams," Nine said of his team's methodology.

Gaimin Gladiators had to record his second defeat against Team Liquid. With a third place at the major, behind OG and Tundra, Gladiators were not the top favorite, but still fall short of expectations.
