Mixed feelings among the top European teams at the Valorant Masters in Reykjavik. While Fnatic has no reason to cheer, Team Liquid is in the playoffs.
With two wins from two games, the e-athletes of the Dutch e-sports organization have secured the first place in the preliminary round Group B. "Incredibly happy that we made it to the playoffs," Liquids Elias "Jamppi" Olkkonen tweeted after qualifying for the knockout round. Liquid's next opponent is the Brazilian team Loud.
Valorant Masters: Preliminary round for Fnatic
The situation is different with Fnatic. After the group stage, the Masters in Iceland has already ended for the British e-sports organization. Two defeats against ninjas in pajamas and Zeta Division mean the last place in Group B.
"This is not what we wanted from this event," it said on the Fnatic Twitter channel after the end. The team had to compete with two loan players in Iceland.
Masters is now also starting for G2 Esports
While their colleagues have already played, the Valorant professionals from G2 Esports have been able to watch so far. As one of four seeded teams, it qualified directly for the playoffs.
On Thursday, the Berlin e-sports organization will enter the Masters - the opponents will then be the Japanese from Zeta Division. They prevailed in the Group A decision game with a score of 2:1 against the South American Valorant roster of ninjas in pajamas.
