G2 Esports has been eliminated in the semi-finals of the international League of Legends tournament Mid-Season Invitational. Against T1 from Korea, the European representative had no chance and had to admit defeat clearly with 0:3.

"It's a pity that we were eliminated so clearly," G2s jungler Marcin "Jankos" Jankowski said in an interview after the semi-final. "But at the same time, I am very glad that we came to MSI and were able to use the time to grow as a team. I am sure that this will help us a lot.»

G2 lost to T1 in the semifinals

The duel was already eagerly awaited: the last time the two teams met in 2019 at the MSI and at the World Championship. Both times T1 lost to G2 in the semifinals of the tournaments.

This time, however, the start of the best-of-five series did not go according to plan for G2: T1 took advantage of every mistake made by the opponent and confidently claimed the first victory. G2 then started strongly in the next game, but after an unsuccessful team fight, the second defeat followed.

In the decisive game, everything fell into place for G2: early on, the European representative fell into a big gap and had to watch how T1 ended the series with a dominant performance after less than 21 minutes.

MSI Final: Faker confident against RNG

In the final there will now be a duel between T1 and the defending champion RNG from China. "RNG is a strong team. But we learned a lot," Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok said in the interview after the semifinals, according to the translation. "So as long as we don't let up and don't make big mistakes, we will win the title.»
