Eintracht Spandau beat Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 in the League of Legends tournament Prime League Super Cup. The name derby was tighter than it made the result look.
"Both games were too close. I don't know how far we are behind in the second game, but we definitely shouldn't win this," Spandau toplaner Mahdi "Pride" Nasserzadeh said in an interview after the game. "So far they have been the best team we have played against in the Super Cup. But we are just the better team.»
In the last round of the eight, one of the best second division teams, Frankfurt, was waiting for Spandau, who had just missed out on promotion. The duel went back and forth over both tracks, and became quite chaotic: the teams each achieved more than 30 eliminations in both games marked by team fights.
Eintracht Frankfurt took good advantage of some of the opponent's mistakes, but in the second game they themselves forfeited a lead and the chance for a third game. The Eintracht duel was thus decided by the first-team player from Spandau, who was favored on paper, for himself.
