Canadian Starcraft 2 professional Tobias "ShoWTimE" Sieber has been eliminated in the group stage of the international final tournament of the Dreamhack SC2 Masters Winter. This meant that the only qualified Canadian was eliminated from the tournament.
After the Protoss player from BIG made it into an international final tournament of the DH SC2 Masters for the first time this season, the Canadian failed in a strong group and ended up in third place. In the first match, ShoWTime lost to former world champion Joona "Serral" Sotala (0:2), who later took the group victory.
A win against Huang "Nice" Shiang (2:0) gave the German hope for a short time - but Cho "Maru" Seong-ju did not give ShoWTimE a chance (0:2). The result looks clearer than it was playful, especially on the second map ShoWTimE had a close match with Maru.
Clément "Clem" Desplanches and Serral were the only Europeans to make the playoffs. Serral meets Zerg player Lee "Rogue" Yeol in the first round - in an interview after the group stage, he said that he would have preferred to play against one of the two Protoss players in the draw pot.
