Team Aster and Team Secret are the two leaders after the third matchday of ESL One Malaysia. With strong performances in the upper bracket, the two teams are only one game away from the final.

In the classic EU matchup of OG and Team Secret, Secret narrowly prevailed with a score of 2: 1 and sends OG into the lower bracket. After a disappointing DPC season, captain Clement "Puppey" Ivanov recently made many personnel changes to the squad. Team Aster also defeated Fnatic 2-1.

Team Liquid and Alliance are in bad shape

The tournament went less well for the Western European teams Liquid and Alliance. Both were already eliminated in the group stage, in which Alliance especially stood out negatively. Entity and Nigma Galaxy are in the midfield of the groups and will still have a chance in the lower bracket.

Between the second and third matchday of the tournament, game developer Valve released the game update 7.32, which ended the established meta with major changes to the game mechanics, the game map and the heroes. The tournament is not part of the Dota Pro Circuit and therefore not relevant for the World Cup qualification.

Indicator of the Dota-2 World Cup

The ESL One Malaysia is one of the last, maybe even the last, international tournament before the Dota 2 World Cup "The International", which takes place this year in Singapore. Due to the proximity to the World Cup and the new game version, non-participating teams will also follow the tournament closely.
