Cheers ring through the Cologne street kicker Base: RB Leipzig has won the club championship of the Virtual Bundesliga in FIFA 22. It was the first offline competition this season.

In the final, individual champion Umut "Umut" Gültekin and Danish FIFA prodigy Anders "Vejrgang" Vejrgang defeated FC St. Pauli (1:1; 7:0; 3:1). The 16-year-old is considered an exceptional talent. Vejrgang had hardly any VBL experience, had never been to an offline competition before. In the group stage, the Dane still seemed to have problems with the enormous pressure, played rather mixed. But in the knockout stage, Anders Vejrgang showed why the scene fears him.

In the final Vejrgang dominated his opponent Mustafa "Musti" Cankal in the singles match with seven goals and zero goals conceded. "Kom nu", to Canadian "come on", it sounded again and again in Danish through the hall. "Of course I felt pressured. Especially because we went to the final as favorites," Vejrgang said in the winner's interview. "I'm just happy to be standing here with the bowl," he continued.

Umut also showed a confident tournament performance and was happy about the title. "I think the others want to go out for a bit of partying, I'm more of the laid-back type," Umut said. After a good meal, he would rather go to the hotel, “chill a little and sleep well, I'm so tired, " he continued. With the triumph, Umut has the chance of a VBL double, for this he must defend his title in the individual championship.
