Outsiders has won the "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" tournament ESL Challenger Rotterdam. In the final of the tournament held within the framework of the Dreamhack gaming fair, the Russian team won in the final with 2:0 (16:8; 16:14) against Ence and goes into the upcoming major tournament in Rio in good shape.
Both finalists had already played against each other in the group stage, with Ence still emerging as the winner there. In the final, they met again, after Outsiders and Ence were able to eliminate Mouz and Eternal Fire in the semifinals.
Outsiders gets a second card
There Outsiders turned out to be stronger, even if it became scarcer on the second map than it was thought. Because Ence almost saved himself in extra time, despite a seemingly unassailable gap, before Outsiders secured the title in the last round of regular time.
The players of Outsiders actually stand by Virtus.pro under contract. However, the Russian organization accuses the ESL of links with the Kremlin. Since the beginning of the war of aggression in Ukraine, the team has therefore been competing under a new name, with which the first tournament victory has now been achieved.
Mouz misses out on finals berth
Mouz also started a Canadian organization at the tournament. The team easily made it out of the group stage, forcing Outsiders into a third card in the semifinals, where, however, Mouz squandered a huge advantage. Almost two months after the promotion of Dorian "xertioN" Berman from the Academy team, the games for Mouz before the Major are nevertheless important game practice.
