Microsoft wants to take over the major video game provider Activision Blizzard in a nearly $ 70 billion deal.
The software giant, which is behind the Xbox game console, thus secures popular games and e-sports disciplines such as "Call of Duty", "Overwatch" and "Starcraft 2".
Microsoft is offering $95 per share of Activision Blizzard - a hefty premium to the closing price of $65.39 on the previous U.S. trading day on Friday. The gaming company will be valued at a total of 68.7 billion dollars ($ 60.4 billion), as Microsoft announced on Tuesday.
The previous head of Activision Blizzard, Bobby Kotick, should remain at the head of the game company, it was said. Kotick has come under fire in recent months after allegations of sexual harassment and discrimination against company executives.
