Steven "Reeker" Chen made his debut in the European League of Legends League LEC with a brilliant performance against Team Vitality. In an interview with the German Press Agency, the e-athlete talks about the duel against LoL star Luka "Perkz" Perkovic and the expectations in the team.
Question: After a few initial difficulties, the game went very well for you. What's going on in one of them?
Answer: It was stressful at the beginning. But I want to get into the mindset that making mistakes is also okay. It's not like I went into the game without a plan. The matchup was just difficult to play.
Debut against Superteam of Vitality
Question: What was it like to play against Perkz, one of the best European LoL players?
Answer: I honestly underestimated Perkz a little. I thought he brought good vibes to the team, knows how to win the game - but he certainly makes mistakes as well. I was surprised at how aggressive he was in the early stages.
Question: You are described as a promising rookie - is there any particular pressure to meet these expectations?
Answer: The biggest pressure comes from the fact that I came to MAD. There is simply a basic expectation of the team. Expectations of outsiders are rather unimportant, most of it comes from within. You just notice that everyone from the team works very hard and invests a lot of time.

Answer: I don't think so. But we are making good progress and also have a good direction through the coaching staff, in which we want to go. We are really improving every day. I am very happy with the way the process is going right now.
