Fnatic has clearly prevailed over G2 Esports in the classic of the European League of Legends league LEC. The team thus secures the top of the table, but is not alone there next to Excel and Rogue.
"It feels really good to win against G2," Fnatics jungler Iván "Razork" Díaz said in an interview after the match. "Especially the way we won. I am very pleased with the performance we have shown this week.»
LEC Rivalry: Fnatic wins against G2
The "Game of the Week" was less competitive than expected: right at the beginning of the game, Fnatic took control and quickly built up the advantage. G2 stayed afloat, but Fnatic didn't give the defending champion a chance to get back into the game. The team led by ex-G2 player Martin "Wunder" Hansen also dominated the rest of the duel clearly and pushed themselves to the top of the table with the victory.
But Fnatic has to share the first place: Excel completed Team BDS in just 24 minutes and thus remains at the forefront. Rogue has also left the difficult start of the season behind and fought back to the top against SK Gaming with the fifth victory in a row.
MAD Lions, however, could not keep the top position: against Misfits Gaming it actually looked good for MAD, but Misfits caught up the gap and ultimately decided the game for himself. The team around the most valuable player from the spring season, Vincent "Vetheo" Berrié, seems to have recovered from the disastrous start of the season and continues to climb up the table.
