FC Ingolstadt 04 has defended its lead in the South-East division of the FIFA VBL Club Championship. In the featured match against the SpVgg Greuther Fürth, the Ingolstadt team secured six important points (6:1; 2:3; 2:0).
For a brief moment, the e-athletes of RB Leipzig were able to sniff the air at the top of the table. However, the team around the reigning individual champion Umut "Umut" Gültekin stumbled in the last match of the day against the 1. FSV Mainz 05 (4:1; 1:3; 0:1). Ingolstadt thus moved past the Leipzigers again with the victory over Fürth and now has a narrow lead of one point.
In the North-West division, the league leader Hannover 96 remains confident. Werder Bremen are four points behind. The two double games of Hannover were postponed due to illness. Potentially, the e-athletes can therefore set themselves apart by six more points.
