Change of power in the European Valorant scene: Guild X has won a tournament of the Game Changers series for the first time. In the final, the permanent rivals of G2 Gozen were defeated.
"I'm speechless that we won," said Guilds Klaudia "klaudia" Beczkiewicz in an interview after the game. The captain of the team also thought about the past duels with G2: "We were always pretty close, but now we've finally made it! I am very proud of my team. I'm so happy!»
Marathon Match
For the Guild X team, including Canadian Valorant player Vivian "roxi" Schilling, it is a special success: after three final defeats against G2 at the last three tournaments of the Game Changers series, the e-athletes were able to celebrate the title for the first time. After a marathon match over five maps, it was 3:2 for Guild X in the end.
After it was a balanced game until the fifth and final Map Icebox, the e-athletes of Guild first played themselves into a frenzy. With a 10: 2 lead, they went into the map halftime. What looked like a sure victory, however, faltered. Round after round, G2 played its way up and could dream of a comeback. In the end, however, the Guild players fell into each other's arms with joy after they were able to make the 13: 9 victory perfect in the 24th round.
Due to the victory, Guild X, currently the best team in the EMEA region, of which Europe is a part, will travel to Berlin for the World Championship called Champions in November. Here you can come to the duel with G2 Gozen again. While Guild is the winner of the Game Changers, G2 has qualified via the regional circuit points ranking.
