Before the start of the new Dota-2 season, almost all the teams of the Western European top league announced changes to their squads. Only Nigma Galaxy and Tundra Esports retain their previous players.
The biggest changes are at OG: the double world champions are separating from all previous players, including Johan "N0tail" Sundstein and Sébastien "Ceb" Debs, who want to contribute to the e-sports team in supporting roles.
The previous coach Mikhail "Misha" Agatov is moving up to the captain's role, and in addition to the ex-member of Team Liquid Tommy "Taiga" Le, he has gathered around him three still quite unknown players.
JerAx comes out of retirement to EG
Jesse "JerAx" Vainikka, formerly also part of the world champion squad, returns from retirement. However, he will not play with OG, but with Evil Geniuses in North America.
Team Secret, who finished third at the World Cup, have parted ways with Lasse Aukusti "Matumbaman" Urpalainen and Ludwig "zai" Wåhlberg, replacing them with Syed Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan from OG, and Daryl Koh "iceiceice" Pei Xiang from Evil Geniuses. Matumbaman and Zai have both found a new home at Team Liquid, the former already won the World Cup with the organization in 2017.
Nigma Galaxy and Tundra Esports without changes
There were also many changes at Alliance: only Nikolay "Nikobaby" Nikolov and Simon "Handsken" Rasmus remained from the old team.
Without personnel changes, Nigma Galaxy and Tundra Esports will remain. Nigma got Igor "iLTV" Filatov as a new addition in April, while Tundra Esports recently announced that it had signed contracts with its players until 2024.
