Only three playoff spots were up for grabs at the PGL "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" major on Tuesday. At the end of the day, two big names - G2 and Team Vitality - failed at this hurdle.

In the decision-making games, it could hardly be ruled out that there would be surprises. After changeable performances in the tournament, G2 did not necessarily go into the duel against Furia as the favorite, and in the end, despite a good performance of the youngster Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov, he narrowly lost the series with 1:2 (12:16; 16:14; 11:16).

Team Vitality had kept their own chance of making the playoffs the day before and eliminated BIG from the tournament. In the last match against Heroic, the Franco-Danish team was not allowed to make a mistake, but in the end lost with 1:2 (7:16; 16:14; 12:16).

Even Team Imperial, whose core around Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo had won two major titles in 2016, could still hope for the playoffs, but lost to Copenhagen Flames with 0:2 (2:16; 18:22). This ended the "last Dance" of the veterans around Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo, which was watched by over 700,000 viewers on the Brazilian stream on Monday.
