The favorite G2 Esports won the Canadian Rainbow Six Derby against Rogue at the season opener of the European League with a score of 7:5.

"It was an expected win," G2's Kevin "Prano" Pranowitz said in an interview after the match. The former Rogue player also commented on the performance of his ex-team: "We went off plan a couple of times, which we shouldn't have done, and they punished that pretty well.»

Despite the clear individual superiority of the G2 players, the game against Rogue was largely balanced. Only in the last three rounds did G2 clearly dominate the game and thus win the match.

The Swiss favorite BDS Esport was also able to prevail on the first matchday and won against Natus Vincere with 8:6. The rising MnM Gaming, on the other hand, did not have a successful start - the team lost significantly to Heroic with 4:7.

The Russian team Empire, which is currently participating in the tournament under the neutral name PWNZ, was able to win against the Canadian Team Secret (8:6), while the second Russian team Outsiders failed to the former player of Team Vitality (5:7).
