The new counter-Strike lineup of G2 Esports can record its first success. The team won the CS:GO tournament Blast Premier Fall Groups against Team Vitality with 2:1 (16:14; 13:16; 16:13) and thus secured the qualification for the final tournament ahead of schedule.

"We didn't mess up all but some scenarios this time," G2's newly hired leader Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen said in an interview after the game. "We made a lot of mistakes and we will learn a lot. It's the best scenario for us because we have a lot of rounds to analyze but still won.»

G2 and FaZe continue only at the last attempt

In the first phase, G2 initially had to accept defeats against Natus Vincere and Team Liquid, but both teams played in top form and were the first to advance to the next round. Vitality was also too strong in the play-ins at first, but G2 managed to get revenge in the last chance stage.

To the surprise of the tournament, OG was eliminated after the team beat Astralis and the major winner FaZe Clan despite a winless group stage and secured the final participation ahead of schedule. The two opponents then had to make up for the progress among themselves, with FaZe narrowly winning with 2:1 (16:9; 16:19; 16:10) enforced.

Blast Premier: BIG has to sit out the showdown

BIG is still looking for form with the new lineup. In the first phase, the team had to accept two narrow defeats against Heroic, and finally lost in the play-ins quickly in the German derby against G2 with 0:2 (8:16; 7:16). Like all other losing teams, BIG will get another chance to participate in the final tournament at the Blast Premier Fall Showdown in mid-October.
