G2 Esports has impressively defeated the tournament favorites T1 and RNG at the start of the Rumble Stage. Thus, the European champion continues his winning streak at the international League of Legends tournament Mid-Season Invitational in South Korea.

"We caught them off guard," G2's midlaner Rasmus "caPs" Winther said in an interview after the victory over T1. "I am sure that we will not remain undefeated in this MSI, but we definitely want to get the trophy back.»

At the beginning, things didn't look good for G2: T1 from South Korea had built up a comfortable lead early on. But after several strong team battles, G2 turned the game in his favor and beat the Korean champion as the first team this year.

The match against the Chinese champion RNG was also very competitive. But G2 once again held its nerve and made the start in the Rumble Stage perfect with 22 victories in a row.

In the other matches of the day, both RNG and T1 triumphed, remaining only slightly behind G2. The North American representative Evil Geniuses around ex-LEC player Kacper "Inspired" Słoma also remains within striking distance with a record of 1:1.
