The Valorant professionals of G2 Esports won for the first time on the second Challengers matchday of the so-called EMEA region. Against SuperMassive Blaze, the team celebrated a 2-0 success. Teams from Europe and Turkey, among others, play in the EMEA region.
The match itself was close – G2 was still 4:8 behind at half-time of the first Map Split, but won at the end with 13:9. There was a simple reason for G2's Johan "Meddo" Renbjörk, as he explained in the tournament stream: "I think we played well, but at first we lost a lot of tight situations and couldn't pull the rounds off.»
With one win and one loss, G2 is in fourth place in Group B of the Challengers tournament - equal on points with World champion Acend. The team suffered a surprising 2-1 defeat in a duel with Guild Esports.
Also, the second e-sports organization based in Berlin besides G2 had no reason to cheer: BIG also lost the second match at the Challengers tournament. In the end, it was 1:2 from the point of view of the Valorant professionals in the duel of the 2nd matchday against LDN UTD. This puts BIG in last place as the only winless team from Challengers-Group A.
