The League of Legends team of G2 Esports has signed three new players for the upcoming season of the European LoL League LEC. The e-sports organization based in Berlin announced this in a video via Twitter.

This year, the squad around star player Martin "Rekkles" Larsson, declared by many as a "Superteam", could not meet expectations. G2 not only failed to qualify for the Mid-Season Invitational, but also did not participate in the World Championship.

This had consequences: after only one year, G2 parted ways with Rekkles again. The coaching staff and the two players Martin "Wunder" Hansen and Mihael "Mikyx" Mehle also had to leave.

For the upcoming season, G2 has announced title ambitions again in the announcement video. The new players should bring a breath of fresh air and help G2 to the LEC title again after the lull.

For this, the organization has chosen not only experienced players: both Victor "Flakked" Lirola, who was previously signed to MAD Lions Madrid, and Raphaël "Targamas" Crabbé from the French champion Karmine Corp have no experience in the LEC so far. Broken Blade, who previously played at Schalke 04 Esports, completes the team with veterans Marcin "Jankos" Jankowski and Rasmus "Caps" Winther.
