The top five teams in the Overwatch League have secured a spot in the playoffs this weekend. Dallas Fuel, San Francisco Shock and Los Angeles Gladiators are guaranteed to compete for the championship title in the West region, while the Dynasty and Shanghai Dragons are guaranteed to compete in the East region.
League leader Dallas Fuel started his weekend dominant. The team defeated Vancouver Titans and London Spitfire 3-0 each. "Dallas makes it look so easy. London is an enormously good team, but that wasn't even close," said commentator Matt Morello.
Overwatch League: Shaky Performance
Los Angeles Gladiators also won 3-0 over London Spitfire. The match was against New York Excelsior. After the latter narrowly won the first round, Los Angeles Gladiators took a 2-1 lead. On the fourth card, New York Excelsior equalized. The Los Angeles Gladiators then won the last round with a shaky 2:1 for themselves.
San Francisco Shock: Playoffs with difficulty
San Francisco Shock had to fight even harder for the early entry into the playoffs. In the first match of the week, the team lost 1-3 to Toronto Defiant. At first, the upcoming game against Atlanta Reign looked like a defeat. The team opened with a two-nil lead. But after halftime, San Francisco Shock looked rejuvenated, securing three cards in a row and the victory. Commentator Jack Wright was stunned at the end: "What an incredible turnaround.»
