Ence Esports took part in the final of the Blast Premier Showdown with 2:1 (3:16; 16:13; 16:12) defeated Astralis and qualified for the final tournament. In the last tournament before the "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" major, the team continued to show itself in top form.
"We are playing very well at the moment, we can also play for the tournament victories in the future," Ences Pavle "maden" Bošković said in an interview after the game. "We have only played with me for three months so far, in a few months we will improve even more.»
At the showdown, there was only one starting place to be allocated for the final tournament in June, for which ninjas in pajamas, Heroic and Astralis, among others, had to fight. With Ence, whose last tournament victory was two years ago with a different lineup, none of the favorites finally emerged as the winner.
After Copenhagen Flames, the Finnish organization also eliminated Heroic on the way to the final, where they met the recently stronger line-up of Astralis. The Danish team got the better start, on the first map Ence got only three laps.
The rest of the series was much tighter, but in the end Ence had the longer breath. On the second card, the team prevented a comeback of the opponent and prevailed in a head-to-head race on the third card. After the surprising final entry in the ESL Pro League, Ence is probably going to the upcoming PGL Major in Antwerp as a secret favorite.
