The Rainbow Six team of FaZe Clan has won its first international title at the major tournament in Sweden. The Brazilians defeated their compatriots from ninjas in pajamas in the final with a score of 3:2.
"This trophy is everything I've been looking forward to all these years," FAZE player Gabriel "cameram4n" Hespanhol said after the match. "It's a great moment. Certainly one of the best moments of my life.»
Brazilian era at Rainbow Six
With their aggressive and versatile strategies, Latin American teams in particular have dominated this year's Rainbow Six tournaments. With the victory at the Six Invitational in May, NiP already took the world title to Brazil.
The last major title also went to a Brazilian team with Team oNe. In Sweden, two Brazilian teams met in the final.
Unexpected success for Rogue
Of the teams that had qualified via the European League, Rogue surprisingly made it to the semi-finals and thus the farthest. This makes it the only German team to have qualified for the Six Invitational, which takes place in February.
While the French favorite BDS Esport failed to beat the eventual tournament winner FaZe Clan in the quarterfinals, the runner-up of the last Six Major tournament, Team Empire, had to leave the tournament after the group stage. For the two teams, as well as Natus Vincere and G2 Esports, the European League finals are expected to continue in December.
