The European teams G2 Esports, Ence and Team Vitality have successfully started the PGL Counter-Strike Major in Antwerp. The three teams were able to get closer to entering the next phase of the tournament with two wins each.

G2 and Vitality made short work of their respective opponents from North America in their first encounters. While the Berlin e-sports organization defeated the opponents of Team Liquid with a score of 16:6, Vitality achieved an almost perfect 16:1 against Complexity. In addition, the lineup of the French organization also managed to achieve a clear victory (16:8) against Astralis, from which it took over several players in January.

Ence won against 9z team from Argentina as well as the Eastern European team Outsiders, in which the line-up of Virtus.pro plays. Virtus.pro had been excluded from various organizers because of links to the Russian government in the wake of Russia's attack on Ukraine.

The four teams with two points at the top of the table now only need one more victory in a best-of-three series to advance to the next phase of the PGL Major. Major tournaments are usually held twice a year and are considered unofficial world championships in counter-strike.
