The Canadian Team G2 Esports and Team BDS from Switzerland are eliminated in the first playoff round of the Rainbow Six Major in Charlotte.

"We have figured out what we have to do," Lucca "Paluh" Molina of Team Liquid said after the 2-0 win against G2, while his team hugged each other to the cheers of the spectators. However, the Canadian team did not remain without opportunities.

The first game was balanced for a long time, but in the end Liquid had the momentum on their own side and was able to win the round for themselves (7:4). In the second match, G2 led significantly and was only one point away from victory. But Liquid fought back round after round and managed to knock the Germans out of the playoffs in extra time (8:6).

Although the Swiss team can easily prevail in the international tournaments in the group phase, it also failed this time just at the start of the playoffs against Oxygen Esports (6:8, 7:8).

It is already clear that at least one of the domestic teams from North America will participate in the final on May 22.
