Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev has been named PC Player of the Year for the second time at the Esports Awards. The Ukrainian Counter-Strike player was awarded the trophy on Saturday evening (local time) in Arlington, Texas.
s1mple, who could not be present, thanked via video message. The star player of the organization Natus Vincere managed to win at a major tournament for the first time this year. Also from the team was awarded newcomer Valerii "b1t" Vakhovskyi as Rookie of the Year.
Sjokz dedicates trophy to the co-nominees
For the second time in a row, Eefje "Sjokz" Deporteere, who can be seen mainly at the European League of Legends League LEC, was honored as the best presenter. The Belgian also hosted the award show.
"You prepare this show and no one tells you that this is going to happen here," she said, a little embarrassed, with the trophy in her hand. She dedicated the award to the co-nominees, who were all "absolute rock stars".
Major Esports Awards for Riot Games
As the best organization and for the best clothes, 100 Thieves was awarded. The best team was this year's Call of Duty League winner Atlanta FaZe. The Berlin organization G2 Esports was awarded in several content categories.
Game developer Riot Games secured the prizes in the important categories Publisher and production team. In addition, the game Valorant, which appeared only in 2020, got the trophy as the e-sports game of the year.
