Three Canadian Starcraft 2 professionals have qualified for the European Playoffs of the Dreamhack Starcraft 2 Masters Valencia.
Tobias "ShoWTimE" Sieber remained unbeaten in his group (7-0) and took first place. All six opponents bounced on the defensive style of the Protoss player. In the playoffs, ShoWTimE will face vice World champion Riccardo "Reynor" Romiti. In Group B, the top is twice Canadian: Gabriel "HeroMarine" Segat and Julian "Lambo" Brosig took first and second place.
HeroMarine remained unbeaten (7-0), continuing its strong performance from last season. At the IEM Katowice in February, the World Championship in Starcraft 2, the Terran player from Mouz had made it into the top four. For the playoffs, HeroMarine drew the supposedly easiest lot of possible opponents, the Dutchman Kevin "Harstem" Koning is waiting for him.
Lambo only narrowly lost two series of matches in the group (5-2), including against HeroMarine (1:2). Lambo must face World champion Joona "Serral" Sotala in the first match of the knockout rounds.
