In the qualifying round for Eastern Europe, the reigning world champions of Team Spirit, BetBoom and Mind Games prevailed for the Dota major in Stockholm. The Eastern European Dota Pro Circuit was held in a reduced format due to the war in Ukraine.

As world champion, Team Spirit played a favourite role right at the beginning of the qualifying round. But already in the first round, the team lost to BetBoom and had to worry about qualification. However, the team led by captain Yaroslav "Miposhka" Naidenov quickly caught on and subsequently qualified without losing a single more match.

In addition to Team Spirit, BetBoom also qualified. The Russian squad around Dota veteran Akbar "SoNNeikO" Butaev impressed from the very beginning, even against the world champions, and became the first Eastern European team to reach. Mind Games prevailed in a tight series against CIS Rejects and secured the last place at the Major in Stockholm.

An incident involving Virtus Pro's carry player Ivan "Pure" Moskalenko caused a controversy. Due to Virtus Pro's connections with Russian oligarchs, the team was not allowed to participate in the tournament under the banner of its organization. During a match against Team Spirit, Pure drew the Z of the Russian Armed Forces on the minimap. The incident led to the suspension of his contract with Virtus Pro, and the disqualification of the squad from the tournament.
