OG has won the second season of the Western European Dota Pro Circuit league this year. After much confusion about a rule change by the organizers, the still fresh squad got the first place without a tiebreaker.
The young squad, signed by the prestigious organization after the last World Cup, was able to successfully build on the third place in the previous season with the victory of the Dreamleague Season 17. With this, the team of captain Mikhail "Misha" Agatov gets important points in the Dota Pro Circuit, as well as an invitation to the Major in Stockholm.
Gladiators secured second place under the leadership of the Dutchman Melchior "Seleri" Hillenkamp. During the league, only OG was able to defeat his team. The third place was taken by Team Liquid, albeit with a large gap in points to the first two teams.
At the end of the DPC season, rule changes by the organizer ESL caused displeasure and confusion. On the last matchday, it was announced that even with ties that do not decide on relegation or major invitation, tiebreakers would be held instead of the result in direct comparison. This deviated from the actual rule set.
The surprising change was met with widespread discontent among players and fans. The following day, ESL announced that it would now stick to the old set of rules.
