Canadian Starcraft 2 pro Julian "Lambo" Brosig took second place at NeXT S2. In the final, the player from Shopify Rebellion lost to Joona "Serral" Sotala with a score of 3:4.

"Absolute sadness," Lambo wrote on his Twitter profile after the finale. The match was very close: the two Zerg players went the full distance in the best-of-seven series. With Serral, a former world champion prevailed in the end.

The Canadian could not crown his strong tournament run with the title win. However, Lambo has left one or the other title candidates behind on his way through the tournament.

In his group, he defeated Lee "Rogue" Yeol (2:1), who is currently considered one of the strongest players in the world. In the semifinals, he knocked out another high-profile player from South Korea, Park "Dark" Ryung-woo (3:2). Lambo went into both matches as an underdog - after all, Rogue and Dark had already won the world title in Starcraft 2 in their careers.
