"A painful defeat," tweeted BIG captain Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz after the lower bracket final against Entropiq at Funspark ULTI. The Berlin CS:GO team finished their first tournament of the year in third place.
BIG started the tournament strongly and was able to record two 2: 1 victories against Fnatic and K23 for himself. In the Upper Bracket final, however, the Berliners were then quite clearly 0:2 (5:16; 10:16) against the eventual tournament winner Gambit.
At the second chance for the final entry, in the Lower Bracket against Entropiq, it was really close for BIG again. The two teams were initially able to win the card they chose with a score of 16:12. On the decisive third card, BIG then had all the chances to win. But the Berliners squandered a clear 13: 4 lead and lost 14:16.
In the final of the two BIG winners, the Russian team Gambit showed itself from the better side. With a clear 16:7 victory on Mirage and a 16:12 on Dust2, the Russians secured the tournament victory. The two finalists also automatically qualify for the next Funspark tournament.
