Team Vitality is entering the new Counter-Strike season with fundamental changes: in the future, the team will start with a long-standing Astralis trio.
"Since joining CS:GO, we have been working to get to the top and build the best talent that France has to offer. Now it's time to think internationally," said e-sports director Fabien "Neo" Devide in an announcement.
With Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen and Emil "Magisk" Reif, two players and coach Danny "zonic" Sørensen join the Vitality lineup. Dupreeh and zonic had been part of Astralis since it was founded in 2016, but had left their former team, like Magisk, after their contracts expired at the turn of the year. At Vitality, they replace three Frenchmen around Richard "shox" Papillon, who joined Team Liquid.
For the first time, Vitality is no longer a purely French-speaking line-up. The change signals a broader trend in the CS:GO scene: G2 had already taken this path in 2019, and Fnatic is now also competing with a mixed lineup after years with an all-Swedish team.
