Turmoil in the North American League of Legends League LCS: Cloud9 has dismissed its head coach Nick "LS" De Cesare, who was only hired at the beginning of the season, after only three months.
The organization dedicated only a short tweet on Saturday evening to the separation from the coach. LS himself expressed surprise on Twitter, but also did not disclose details about the circumstances of the decision. The community reacted with perplexity.
LS, who previously lived in South Korea for a long time, made a name for himself as a streamer and commentator. At Cloud9, he not only became head coach, but also got complete control over new signings.
Before the dismissal, the team was on the shared first place with three victories, but lost the first game without LS significantly against the last in the table CLG.
Due to the unconventional playing style of the team, there was a lot of attention on Cloud9 in the first weeks of the game. "C9 has forced our players to learn and adapt in training games. LS's contribution was positive for the LCS on the bottom line," Evil Geniuses head coach Peter Dun wrote on Twitter.
