The 19-year-old Starcraft 2 professional Clément "Clem" Desplanches has made it to the shared third place at the international final tournament of the Dreamhack SC2 Masters Winter.
In the group stage, the French youngster did not give a single map, thus securing the first place (2-0). In the quarterfinals, a heavyweight was waiting for Clem: in a close match, the Terran player prevailed over the South Korean Cho "Trap" Seong-ho (3:2). Trap is currently considered the best Protoss player.
In the semifinals it was over, in the Terran-vs-Terran matchup Clem lost to the South Korean Cho "Maru" Seong-ju significantly (0: 3). "The last match wasn't that great, but hey, I'm not too disappointed with my tournament overall. Thanks for watching," Clem wrote on Twitter afterwards.
Maru later also took the title, in a close match against Lee "Rogue" Yeol, the player from Team NV triumphed (4:2). For almost two hours, the two players offered the fans a closely fought final. "I'm happy to finally be able to pay back a title to my fans for all the cheering," said Maru according to a translation in the winning interview.
