Boom Esports defeated Tundra Esports 3-2 in the final of the Gamers Galaxy Dota Invitational. The Southeast Asian team entered the first Lan tournament since the World Cup as the underdog, but managed a flawless group stage and a confident run through the Lower Bracket.

"I'm very proud of the guys, but we still have a long way to go. We're looking at the World Cup and this is just part of the process for us," Rolen "skem" Ong said in an interview after the game. "I feel great, even though we didn't train enough, we still managed to secure the trophy," added his teammate Erin "Yopaj" Ferrer.

After a group victory in Group B, Boom was knocked out in the first round of the knockout stage by tundra in the lower half of the tournament. There, the team eliminated Team Secret, as well as Team Spirit and Nigma Galaxy. The second round in the final against Tundra was extremely close.

The third place was taken by the Canadian Kuro "KuroKy" Salehi Takhasomi with Nigma. The organization was also the organizer of the tournament. For the world champions of Team Spirit, it was only enough for fourth place. The Russian organization had to compete with a substitute player, because, according to its own information, Miroslav "Mira" Kolpakov could not safely fly out of Ukraine.
