Canadian counter-Strike team BIG finishes the Dreamhack Open November in second place. In the final of the e-sports tournament, the Berlin organization lost significantly with 0:3 (3:16, 12:16, 10:16) against Fnatic.
"I've really played a lot of Dreamhack tournaments and it feels good to finally have won one," said Fnatic player Alex "ALEX" McMeekin. "The next thing for us is the IEM winter, where we want to give everything again. The victory today is very important for our self-confidence".
Mixed performance at BIG and Mouz
BIG showed himself extremely strong during the tournament. After victories against Mad Lions and Gamerlegion, the Berliners finished the group stage first. Even in the 2:1 semi-final victory against the Russian team Forze, BIG remained strong in form. The Berliners lost the first card only narrowly in extra time.
In the final, however, BIG could not show any more of this. The Berliners did not come into the game against Fnatic and lost significantly with 0:3. Despite the final defeat, the team was very satisfied with the performance on the whole, wrote BIG player Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz on Twitter.
Things went much worse for the Hamburg organization Mouz: after an opening defeat against Mad Lions, the team could still hope for the knockout round in the short term by winning game two. However, another defeat against Mad Lions sealed the early end for Mouz.
