At the IEM Katowice, the Canadian counter-Strike team BIG has fallen far short of expectations. After two defeats against Astralis and Fnatic, the Berliners dropped out of the important tournament before the start of the group stage.

The tournament started well for BIG. With a 16:13 against Movistar Riders, the team gained a good starting situation for the jump into the group stage. But against both Astralis and Fnatic, BIG did not manage to win the decisive rounds for himself and eventually lost both games with a score of 1:2.

Things went much better for the Hamburg team Mouz. The Hamburgers started the tournament with a 16: 8 victory and then narrowly lost 1: 2 against Faze. In the second attempt, Mouz then managed to qualify for the next round with a 2:0 against Entropiq.

A good result also against the background of the current team composition: Mouz had to nominate Jon "JDC" de Castro from the second team shortly before the start of the tournament for Aurimas "Bymas" Pipiras, who tested positive for Covid-19.

The third Canadian team in the Sprout tournament also dropped out after defeats against FaZe and Godsent.
