According to a report, Bundesliga club Hertha BSC is about to enter the e-sports League of Legends. As the e-sports magazine "Upcomer" reports, the Berliners will compete in the Prime League in 2022, the LoL league for the German-speaking countries.

For this, the Hauptstadtclub took over the starting place from the Hessian e-sports organization Team Riverside, which should compete in the second highest level of the Prime League next year. According to the report, Hertha is also taking over Toplane player Julien "Fl4mer" Berschuck from Riverside.

Other sources from the association's environment confirmed the entry of the German press Agency. A spokesman declined to confirm or deny the report on Friday. Hertha has already signed several e-athletes in the football simulation FIFA.

The capital club is not the first Bundesliga club to extend its e-sports commitment to League of Legends. FC Schalke 04 maintained a team in the highest European league LEC until the summer. However, the klamme club sold the starting place in the league to the Swiss e-sports organization BDS Esports in the fall for 26.5 million dollars.
