The French Rainbow Six team BDS Esport has clearly defeated the Russian top favorite Team Empire in the final of the European League (3:0). For the time being, the winners could only celebrate by video chat, even the trophy in the form of a gilded phoenix was still in the studio.

"We deserved it," BDS player Bryan "Elemzje" Tebessi said after the win. "We are the most consistent team in the league." The victory against another top team was still surprising: "To be honest, we were expecting more rounds," the 25-year-old added.

G2 Esports misses out on Six Invitational

Next up for the two teams is the World Championship Six Invitational (SI) in February. For the first time since the foundation of the German team G2 Esports in August 2018, the team could not qualify for it. The third place in the EU League was also denied to the team by a 1: 2 defeat against Natus Vincere.

Team Cowana was able to prevail against the Russian contender HellRaisers in a shaky game in the relegation the day before. In a tight game, Cowana managed to save himself in extra time after a gap and still managed to win the game.

Fresh competition in R 6 European League

The relegated team Heroic will be replaced by the British team MNM Gaming next season. She also has the opportunity to qualify for the SI. For this, the British have to prevail in the next qualifying round at the end of January against Team Secret, Cowana Gaming and Team Vitality.
