Counter-Strike Major winner FaZe has also won the IEM Cologne. In a closely contested final, the North American team led by Canadian-Dane Finn "karrigan" Andersen defeated the opponents of Natus Vincere with 3:2 (16:13, 13:16, 16:19, 16:9, 16:14).

"What a match, what an end for this season," Karrigan said after his team was able to lift the trophy into the air amid the cheers of the fans and in the rain of confetti. "I am proud to call these people my teammates." And to the fans who cheered him loudly, he said in Canadian: "I love you Cologne, fantastic support, I love you! Thank you!»

For the audience in Cologne's Lanxess Arena, the finale remained exciting until the last moment. The duel went in a total of about seven hours over the complete distance of five cards.

On the last map, Navi fell behind several times despite a good start, but fought back until 14:14. However, with a heroic effort by Canadian Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken, Faze regained the lead and played his way to victory.
