What makes happy people?

Often there are people around who seem to be happy. This is not always the case, because no one can look behind the facade. Nevertheless, there are some things that happy people do for their happiness or do not do for that very reason. Maybe one or the other point gives you an inspiration to make yourself happier or to let as little negative as possible get to you in everyday life.


1. Do not take criticism personally!

Anyone who takes criticism personally will encounter headwinds somewhere every day. It is often not easy to view critical opinions neutrally or to simply take them as new information. But those who do not take criticism personally are happier, because: we can never please everyone in our environment - online and offline not. There are always people who will find it good what you do - but just as many people will not find something good about it. It is important to focus on those who signal approval, like us or develop together with us and do not complain about everything. Stand by yourself and do what makes you happy.


2. Do not compare yourself with others!

When you start to compare yourself with others, you usually notice what the other person is particularly good at or what he owns. At the same time, you become aware of what you cannot or do not have yourself. It makes you feel unfairly treated or inferior. But the requirements for a certain talent are different for everyone and comparing us with each other is therefore not at all expedient. And in any case, there is also something that your boyfriend or girlfriend can not do, but which is talked about less often.

Often we also compare the skill of a hobby, for example, taking pictures, with the skill of a professional photographer. The basis for this is not given and only leads to sadness. If you find a realistic and fair basis for a comparison, you can set goals or motivate yourself to become better. But in very few cases this basis is identical, because everyone has experienced a different path.


3. Recognize the good in your life!

To be happy, we have to accept what we already have. Be grateful for all that you have already achieved. Be proud of yourself and respect yourself. If you are ungrateful, you will find more and more things that you don't like so much. Those who focus on the positive will always look ahead and recognize even more good things.


4. Don't let setbacks and fears stop you!

Those who start with something new will not have reached the goal the very next day. Setbacks are part of life and should not stop us from doing something again and again. Those who succeed usually only got up once more in life and continued to fight, while others gave up just before the goal. You'll never know how far you'll get if you don't keep trying. Fulfill your dream and don't let setbacks or fears stop you. Even every person with success had concerns or fears at the beginning. Learn from your defeats and become stronger.


5. Do not give more than you take!

Find the right balance of self-love and charity. When you feel good about yourself, you have more motivation to be there for others. However, those who deal only with their own problems and hide in a hole do not love either themselves or others. Therefore, it is important to find a balanced middle there in order to make yourself and your fellow human beings happy. Be there for your loved ones, but also take care of yourself.
